First Point: First person shooters are everywhere
Now Black ops and World at War both games i enjoy for their guns, gameplay and moody undertone but as this picture shows NAZI ZOMBIES. nazi zombies which is like horde mode from gears BUT i know how different they are. Nazi zombies is enjoyable because unlike horde most maps have objectives or just YOU NEED TO SURVIVE which you can't do if you stay in one place.
Now i am not a major fan of the modern warfare series i think maybe always being stabbed, having knives thrown over a map, being noobtubed (grenade attachment killed), hacked or quick scoped might have something to do with it. Well this series of games must be good since they normally cost over £40 when they first come out and are until the next game comes out, i don't enjoy the games but i can accept that they have good gameplay.
Now same game, team deathmatch, king of the hill, annex, wingman and meatflag same gametypes as usual with some different rules but my personal favourites are team deathmatch since in team deathmatch you can get execution and normal both bringing new strategies to a immersive gameplay experience.
You say xbox multiplayer and most people say halo which i admit i am one of the multiple people who would go on with his friends and annoy people who played it seriously, halo was the only series where i enjoyed all game types since the game never took itself it serious which allowed the players to have more fun than just thinking i have got to win this.
Now left 4 dead a new angle on coop in campaign with friends or a random person on the other side of the planet, this game punishes lone wolves and forces teamwork which is an interesting concept i mean what better way to form teamwork by throwing them in the thick of it.
Second Point: Now i am not a major fan of first person shooters but i would like to get this sort of co-op in a game with a narrative such as.
Dead Rising 2 now i don't know how many people have played the dead rising franchise but basically you try to escape a zombie apocalypse which sounds fun until you see sigh..... time limits are everywhere. In the co-op and online multiplayer at all time have a narrative which is what i like but unfortunately co-op is the only one that has proper gameplay for two people since it is just playing thought the campaign.
Now i don't think i have to explain this one i mean this game is brilliant one side are assassins the others are templars all you have to do is kill your target or stop your pursuer. now this sounds basic but every character has a story and a individual weapon which as a player i appreciate it shows they put thought into the multiplayer and there is a basic narrative.
I LOVE THIS GAME i mean valve round of applause you went the extra mile for co-op and created a whole new campaign all needing teamwork to pass the challenges. i can actually say i can't comment since i love this game.
Third Point: Now you might wonder what is this rant about and you may find this stupid but i want some company to try and make a RPG with a multiplayer and you may say there are but i don't mean MMORPG such as world of warcraft, i want a game like Fallout 3 where you have your own world and your friend has but you can have it like an encounter as you walk through the wasteland, you can move together in the person's world with no impact to the other person's game apart from levelling up and in the ending sequence it mentions you meet an ally and helped him in his adventure. Well the games world is getting bigger every game release so maybe what i want will appear one day.
Since Online/Offline multiplayer is such a big thing it is strange to not think about putting it in a game especially since that is how most people play games now but i think it is by looking into making a single player game into a multiplayer game that can destroy a franchise so it is a very hard descision as a game company. I think in most cases with game companies you should just go with the flow.
